Compensation Survey
Oak & Associated sent out over 500 surveys to agencies throughout California during June and July. The survey covered how agencies compensate producers, CSRs and other agency staff. The following are the results from the 79 firms that responded. Responses were divided into categories based on the local population centers. The local population density is more important than the size of the agency when reviewing compensation since large urban environments tend to have a higher cost of living.
Throughout the report there are four main categories used to break down the data: Rural areas - locations where the population within a 20 mile radius is less then 50,000 people, suburban areas - where the population within a 20 mile radius is between 50,001, 500,000 and urban areas - where the population within a 20 mile radius is over 500,000 people and finally the overall average of all respondents.
